Situated in the Bay of Saint-Malo off the coast of Normandy and governed from Saint Helier, the Bailiwick of Jersey is the largest and southernmost of the Channel Islands and a self-governing British Crown Dependency. Prior to decimalization in 1971, Jersey struck fractional copper and bronze coins denominated in 1/52, 1/26, 1/13, 1/24, and 1/12 of a shilling; today it issues the Jersey pound (JEP) and pence featuring the three Plantagenet leopards, La Corbière Lighthouse, and Dolmens.
